Welcome to Colliers Wood!

Welcome to Colliers Wood, especially if you have come from abroad. English people have a reputation for being a bit cold or unfriendly so we want to put that right! Be sure that we are glad you are here!

Colliers Wood is a very colourful part of Merton, South West London.

We are situated between Wimbledon and Tooting, Mitcham and Wandsworth.

Colliers Wood has a tube station next to which is a big black tower block that no one likes but nothing can be done about that!

Colliers Wood is blessed with a great big Sainsbury's Hypermarket called the SavaCentre as well as a little Tesco's that hides behind a petrol station! There are also lots of little shops especially Tamil ones from Sri Lanka. There is at least one Tamil restaurant as well as a Fish'n'Chip shop and Kebab shops etc etc. We even have a Burger King and a PCWorld as well as quite a few pubs, most of which have changed into 'trendy' bars or clubs.

Colliers Wood is built on a marsh which is not too clever if global warming is going to make the place wetter! We have got plenty of parks for an inner city area.

Our people are from all over the world and worship all sorts of gods. Some worship the God of the Bible, others worship false gods or idols and some even worship themselves!

The Good News is that the living and loving God knows Colliers Wood and He knows all the people here too! You may be worried about that or about other things but your first concern should be to know God. We pray that we may play a part in helping that to happen!
