Who are we?

You may be new to Colliers Wood and wondering about religion or you may just be looking for a church. There are so many religions and within Christianity, so many churches, that you may be a little confused.

First of all let us explain. There are many churches that are good and many that are bad! How can you tell? Quite sImply some churches follow the Bible as carefully as they can, and others virtually disregard the Bible altogether and follow their own ideas instead! (Some churches do a bit of both and that's where there is real chaos!)

We come within the first category ... we are a church that really tries to honestly follow the Bible.

We are part of a small group of churches called the Church of England (Continuing). We came into existence in 1994 after the unbiblical ordination of women in the Church of England.

However, we are not a "new church" or a "breakaway church" in the sense that some might think. Really it is the Church of England that has broken away from her biblical foundation as set out in the 16th Century Protestant Reformation for which many were burnt at the stake by the Roman Catholic Church's leaders and followers. After all, as the Bible says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday,today and forever! (See the Book of Hebrews which is towards the end of your Bible).
